Hmm, You've neglected the blog and I've neglected to read it. Oops. Actually I haven't been doing too good at my blog either.

But you have been busy, I envy you having those anthologies that are planned. I could do a few but I would need to take a week off from work to get them all together and the stories edited so there's not a lot of nitpicks and bad grammar in them.

If only female characters could remember spells, I would still want to know why.

Good luck.

Just wanted to say two things. One: sounds interesting I will be eager to see how it goes.

Second: I too have a novel I'm working on that I have the next books mapped out. Well, not totally but I at least know the basics. I haven't even finished the first one and am ready to start the second...I know the opening scene.

I may go indie with this one, which is why I am interested in your path. Haven't quite made up my mind on which one I will go indie with. I have three to choose from. For some reason though I think this one might be my best bet for the traditional way. Probably wrong.

I think you're right. It's all in the character. In the story where women can't do magic, we don't know why it happened, but the MC is sympathetic throughout.

However, I wager that if I wrote a story where women were the only one's who could do magic and the men couldn't, it would be readily embraced.

Markets? I doubt if there is a market out there that would touch such a story and it would be an ebook.

You said, "females couldn’t remember spells".

There's a clear reason in your story for why women's minds are inferior to men's, right? If not, I'd guess that most readers would give up on the story in disgust. It wouldn't be a matter of political correctness or prejudice, but of a desire for sense, that would turn people away.

As for the first story that you mentioned...The Empress is a man-hater who places an incompetent and immature relative (slaps the MC in the face, really?) in a position of command, and the MC acts like a brat but gets to save the day by dominating over the stupid b**** who took his position on the ship.

I could see how a similar sketch would offend. Conversely, I could see how the story might work if each character's motivations are clear and believable.

Out of curiosity, which markets are you hoping to sell the finished stories to?

Hello there..nice to meet you here.

And nice that you are back to blogging. Not too bad of a blog either.

As you've probably heard me say, I'm one of those writers who would need help in cleaning up any novels I e-publish. Which is why I haven't e-published any stories like I want to.
